You Got It

Water Lily

You Got It…

by Shahinur Islam

You got it; I didn’t

That’s my another getting

I knew you; you didn’t

That’s my another knowing.

In the rhythm of that getting

near and far of that knowing

though the sky is overcast

and the rain is at its blast,

the sunshine came through my window,

picked up fistful slices of my sorrow

and went to the border to fling.

The desires that fly away,

the longings that sway,

make me tired although,

invite me by mistake of billows.

It keeps me awake like a full moon

out of the cavern of gloom

and sweeps the old soot swinging.
