Ottawa’s open-air literary festival and book fair, Prose in the Park, was held on June 3-4, 2016. The event kicked off with a wonderful evening of poetry readings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday, June 3 at the Origin Studio, 57 Lyndale Avenue, Ottawa. The festival panels and book fair took place on Saturday, June 4 from 11 am to 6 pm in the Parkdale Park amid much fervour and enthusiasm.
There were nine panels in English and four panels in French, which mirror the linguistic feature of the region.
Prose in the Park was organized by the six writers’ associations of the Ottawa-Gatineau region: the Ottawa Independent Writers, the Capital Crime Writers, the Canadian Authors Association – National Capital Region, the Ottawa Science Fiction Society and the Ottawa Romance Writers Association. Its partner was the Hintonburg Community Association and Hintonburg Economic Development Committee.
