My Days Have Slipped Away
by Shahinur Islam
My days have slipped light years away,
leaving some wrinkly, bluish memories
in the heart-lake of silence.
Like the dusk crawling up into the dark
the lotus of words has got stolen,
the leaves staring like stars
as if with the devotion of thousands of years.
Dark nights have eaten away the watery moonlight,
so all the symphonies lie beyond the horizon.
Like a shadow remains the ghost of darkness,
making the heart of the lake unsettled.
