If They Meet in Love

poem

If They Meet in Love

by Shahinur Islam

Along the vertical line of the sense

if a parallel line of feels is drawn

and if they meet in love,

in this life then, the sun-faded, ice-hard

dot in disregard, too, finds some water;

the arrow-pierced egret as well can hear

the beckoning of life;

the match-stick left in disregard as well

has a dream to be lit again;

and the grass, too, longs for living

like an unyielding banyan tree.
